This newly designed apartment, located in Tbilisi’s historic Old Town on Atoneli Street, seamlessly blends the charm of a 19th-century building (constructed in 1894) with ultra-modern interior aesthetics. The design features minimalist elegance, innovative use of space, and refined materials to create a sophisticated and functional living experience. The goal was to preserve the building's historical roots while embracing a bold, contemporary design ethos.
The design was driven by a focus on functionality, elegance, and an intentional connection between the past and the present. Space was carefully planned to make the most of the apartment's vertical layout, creating a loft-style design that adds depth and interest. The integration of warm, natural materials such as wood and stone, paired with clean, modern finishes, achieved a balance between comfort and minimalism. Attention to detail was key, from the herringbone flooring to the custom lighting solutions that highlight architectural features and create a welcoming, ambient atmosphere. The design aimed to create a space that feels both inviting and innovative, offering a fresh take on living in a historic setting.
The matte charcoal wall creates a striking backdrop, accented by minimalist wall art and a sleek vertical radiator. Cleverly designed storage integrates seamlessly into the staircase, housing a built-in wine rack and open shelves for books or decorative items. The space exudes understated elegance, offering a warm and inviting corner for quiet moments or casual conversation.
